“Last question: why her?”

Why should we work with her?

It’s a fair question. The reality is that there are many people who want to be Strategic Planners, and few spots to fill. Being a good fit for a role is no longer about “can they do the work?” or “are they qualified?” Both of those are now requirements - to get the role, you have to be more than just qualified or able.

Ana Montoya is great strategist not just because she’s qualified, or able to do the job, but because she has a voice,

an opinion,

a point of view.

Why?

Her point of view was born from living in the South, West, and now East Coast, which allows her to understand how the people from all over the states live and think.

Her point of view stems from being a 4’11” woman, and learning very early on in life the importance of speaking up and having confidence in your voice, otherwise you risk being overlooked.

Her point of view was nurtured by growing up half-white, half-hispanic in an increasingly mixed world.

Why?

Why is that important?

We are living in times where very few new ideas are born - often we see iterations of something old. Having a point of view, having something new to say is a powerful tool in a world full of repeats.

The Insight

Ana Montoya is a great Strategic Planner because she has a point of view, which is the most important tool a strategist can have in today’s age.
